In support of the Agency’s mission, the Family Support Teacher is responsible for promoting and maintaining an elevated level of parent engagement and the delivery of family support services to encourage the greater self-sufficiency of all Head Start families. Works in collaboration with other classroom staff to provide a high-quality education services in a learning environment that includes meaningful experiences to prepare children ages 3-5 years for success in school environments. This position provides a major link between the Head Start program, community and the families it serves. Responsibilities also include knowledge of and compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, Agency/Head Start Policies and Procedures, Oregon Department of Early Learning and Care (DELC) regulations, and Spark/QRIS standards. The Family Support Teacher is responsible for understanding and implementing the appropriate policies and procedures and performance standards as prescribed by the Office of Head Start and the Community Action Head Start Program. This position receives training and support from the Family Services Supervisor and Parent, Family and Community Engagement Specialist to promote parent engagement and implementation of family services in the Head Start program.
