PRIMARY PURPOSE: Provide coaching for birth to five education staff using a reflective practice model; conducts classroom observations; discusses analysis of child outcomes data; provides coaching for staff to improve teacher/child interactions and child outcomes towards school readiness; provides instructional support to teachers. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Reason position exists is to perform these functions): • Train coaching recipient staff on methods and process to be used within our coaching program, in collaboration with supervisory staff. • Provide individual and/or group coaching to all assigned SCHS education staff. • Provide training/technical assistance on program curriculum, assessment tools and data during coaching sessions and at all-staff professional development events. • Conduct program assessments, i.e. CLASS, Creative Curriculum-The Fidelity Tool, TPOT, HOVRS • Utilize results of self-assessments, surveys, performance appraisals, observations and other data to identify staff strengths and areas for improvement. • Conduct observations of teaching staff and of their interactions with children and families to create opportunities for discussion. • Provide feedback in a supportive, instructive and non-judgmental way. • Work with Education staff to develop individualized goals and objectives. Provide ongoing assistance to implement them and monitor progress. • Assist Education staff to incorporate assessment data into instructional planning and practice. • Evaluate progress and effectiveness of coaching and training. • Model professionalism and best practices at all times. • Submit completed accurate documentation in a regular and timely manner. • Support overall information sharing and understanding of SCHS policies, procedures and practices. • Facilitate communication with others by using available technologies (e.g., phone, fax, e-mail, file sharing) • Participate in planning and program development efforts. • Submit written monthly report to supervisor. • Represent and promote Head Start within the communities assigned by serving on appropriate committees, boards and councils and by attending community meetings, as approved by supervisor. • Actively engage and support Diversity, Equity and Inclusion activities and inclusion in all work. • Responsible for personal safety, reporting incidents or accidents within a reasonable amount of time to supervisor or Safety Committee at Safetycommittee@orcca.us. • Responsible for picking up after one’s self and maintaining company owned equipment. Report damaged or malfunction equipment to supervisor, facilities maintenance or HR. • Performs other related duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood or related field required • Three years of experience as a classroom teacher or home visitor using the program curricula (Creative Curriculum, Growing Great Kids, etc.) preferred • Three years progressively responsible professional experience which demonstrates significant supervisory and administrative responsibilities preferred • Strong knowledge of theories and practices of Early Childhood Education/Development typically gained via experience and/or education.
